Restaurant Review :Indulgence Ipoh

If you ever got the chance to visit Ipoh or somehow that you are already in Ipoh and have no idea where to go for a good dinner , go to the Ipoh Hor Fun Shops at China Town or if you have money to spend , go to the BEST restaurant in Perak  , INDULGENCE . Owned by Julie Song , Master Chef and Owner of Indulgence , Indulgence is simply in my humble opinion the best rataurant you can find in Perak .

-Ready to Indulge?

`I 'm from Ipoh too ! How come I've never heard of this place you call Indulgence and what makes you say this is the best restaurant in all of Perak ? ?'

Well my friend , the Sultan of Perak doesn 't come all the way to Indulgence for nothing . A regular at the restaurant , Indulgence really lives up to its name .

I've been to Indulgence a couple of times and the food here is really a class on its own . Having won many awards in the food and beverage industry , you can see all it 's medals and trophies at the front when you step in to the reservation counter .

So how come so many people from Ipoh have never heard of Indulgence ? It 's location will contribute to that factor . Indulgance is a banglow by itself . You won 't spot it if you don 't know it . The best instruction I can give you to Indulgence is this .

1)At the Ipoh Parade roundabout ,take a 9 o'clock turning . Going 12 o'clock will bring you to Casuarina Ipoh .

2)Go straight and look for a grey banglow on your left . It 's before Ipoh Specialist centre . There is a sign stating `Indulgence ' at the gate .

Thats that for the location .

Now for the food , Indulgence serves particularly western dishes . I've tried many of their dishes  and think that their pasta is highly recommendable . the food here changes from time to time so you've got to look at the menu for the latest offerings . so far  , I've very stisfied with all their dishes . Indulgence is however famous for their deserts and you will be spoiled for choices .If you ever stop by indulgence , please do ask for their Banana pie . It 's so delicious even a Banana hater would ask for a 2nd helping ..to give you a glimpse of how good it is ...I took 6 pies .....

Their cakes are also a house speciality . Try the Tiramisu . Like the food , the types of cakes are also rotated from time to time .

The ambience of Indulgence is not one of the nicest you 'll see but it represents elegence and class . Not the typical Ipoh restaurant  per say . It 's however suitable for dates a but has a `family ' atmosphere . the seatings are spacious and you won 't be disturbed by ramblings from the other tables .

The service ? Well , just satisfactory , nothing amazing about the service because I 've seen much better . When I was there with amira the waiter kept asking whether he could take the plate away and  one time a waiter even dropped a glass on the floor ...OUCH !...hope that doesn 't happen to the Sultan .

About the pricing , I'll estimate RM60 -RM70 a person for a complete meal of an appetizer , main course and desert .

All in all , a great place to have dinner in Ipoh and one of the only setbacks you 'll have is that you 've got to stand up and pay respect to the Sultan everytime he passes by .

Location - 9/10  Its a banglow by itself so you don 't have to worry about

                          your car getting stolen or no parking .
