Restaurant Review:Dragon-I

Dragon-I is acctually a franchise of restaurants located in KL. It serves Chinese delicacies such as `pau s ' , ` fried mee ' , `friend rice ' , and side dishes such as friend salted egg & sweet sour chicken to go with rice . So far , I've been to Dragon-I twice and the food there is really good .If you have read reviews in local dailies , Carmen Soo frequents Dragon-I, Mid-Valley on Sunday afternoons ..you get the hint .......

Anyway , for the review , I and 4 of my good friends went to Dragon -I Sunway Piramid for a light dinner . The ambience of Dragon-I is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've seen so far . Its a touch of ancient Chinese ruins with a slight modernization of the new world .The colour of red and black brings a class of elegance to the restaurant . I won 't however recommend this restaurant for dates though  because it has more like a business or family atmosphere . The seatings allthough not too near to each other aren 't too far either for a good one on one time .

The service at the restaurant is `satisfactory ' . The waiters and waitresses converse in Mandarin or Cantonese so those of you who know me , will know I had quite a GOOD time ordering my food . Luckily all the others spoke fluent Chinese and knew me for such a long time that making fun of me had no value of entertainment anymore .

As for the food , it was simply delicious . I ordered many varieties from their menu and all of them tasted above average . When you visit Dragon-I , you have got to taste their `pau s ' . Wui Keong bit on 1 and juice started coming out of it!!......OMG ! The pau is juicy ! in a freaking good way . The kitchen is opened for public viewing and the public can see what is going on in there . The pau 's are freshly baked at the moment of order .....simply mouth watering .

-Oooh lala , the PAU s ......DAM was it good !

If you do go there , try the ribs and also the fried mee . It really does taste better than your average hawker stall by the street .

-OOOhh.the soup was so freaking nice.....

The only drawback I had at the restaurant was that I was overcharged . My chinese tea for 5 costed RM10.00 and cold mouth tissues costed us RM2 per person . It's not that I am stingy or what , but they never stated it in the 1st place !! They should tell that those mouth tissues , tib bits and chinese tea wasn 't free before serving us . Is it compulsory for us to take it ? Dam , in that case each guest has to pay a so call cover charge of RM15 before entering Dragon-I , excluding tax .

Apart from that  , the meals at Dragon-I are reasonably priced. Pau's cost RM6 per set of 2 and a typical friend rice cost RM13 . I really do think the food there are worth their prices .
