I won an IPOD shuffle! FOC

A  month ago , Yen Chi introduced me to this site called FREEEISGOOD.BLOGSPOT.COM . On this site , they give out free stuff on a weekly basis . I personally thought they were nuts and it was a scam . Who on earth gives free stuff without any catch ? All I had to do was to put my e-mail on the comment section and wait for the `draw ' ( I have no idea how they draw winners  ) . They are still new and have just gave out an IPOD shuffle and a Kingston 1GB flash drive for the previous two weeks .

Anyway , Yen Chi entered my name and e-mail for me to win a limited edition red IPOD shuffle... and guess what ? I won the freaking thing . I'm getting it next week from the owner of the site , Ernest .

Now is this just downright crazy or a damn clever way of gaining publisity ? With  a posts generating over 42 comments and a blog age of less than 2 months , I think FREEEISGOOD.BLOGSPOT.COM is definitely going to be something BIG . Do go to the site and have a look , I 'm telling you , I just won a limited edition IPOD shuffle without paying a cent . You could just be next.

These guys are crazy for giving out free stuff ..... and crazy sometimes is just `fine ' .

Magician's Christmas presents!

This year's Christmas has been a good one so far . Shows are flowing in , presents came by this year by the lots and I had smses wishes from long lost friends .

I got two self-improvement book from MOM , One was about Public Speaking by Dato' Lawrence Chan . I met the author briefly this year, and he's a good friend of a friend of mine who went into STAR Celeb . I'm really planning to join TOASTMASTERs the coming year but I will have to see when is the annual meetings held . Joining TOASTMASTERs is something that I have put on hold for very long now due to godforsaken UTP .

Another book was unheard of , but it's on GENERAL self improvement . Either my mom really thinks I'm a crappy son and needs to improve myself or she just knows I love reading books like these .

My Dad gave me a pair of high quality black slacks for office work .

My POPO gave me a bottle of hair cream that cost a whopping ass . I know because my POPO forgot to take the price tag off .

My mother's God daughter's brother , Benedict gave me a thumb's UP Illuminious PEN.

and finally guess what CHICHI got me from Hong Kong?

Sams_k3
The latest Samsung K3 MP3 player !

The design is soooo nice ! and it's in BLACK, and it has 4G's worth of memory ! Blardee nice wei ! thanks CHI !

Chi also got me a zippo that has a KING of HEARTs engraved on it , plus it shoots out UV light ! For those magicians out there who read my blog , remember the SCORPION kit which came out of the `E' company ? Well , that was junk compared to this . Haha . You're going to see me do some really cool routines with this . Thanks CHI!

Christmas cum New Year's Party

Waah , really have been partying a lot the past couple of days and my gut is telling me to stop soon , or I'm gonna gain unwanted pounds by the mountain load .

However , a party is always a good place to relax and have a good time .... My good friend Mei Sze invited me to her Christmas cum New Year's celebration party in her house . I was expecting a small gathering of relatives and friends but it turned out to be massive . They even had a `char kuey teow ' chef in the garden and she told me that they brought him all the way from
EDEN . they had marvelous lamb , salmon , ice kacang , prawns ...Waah , seriously like a 5 star restaurant buffet .

Who's Mei Sze ? She's the girl I met during Valentines 4 years back as friends and amazingly , we still remained close after all this years . Ironicly , that was my worse Valentines ever for reasons I cannot say ( and it had nothing to do with the people I went with ) but over the past years , I did shows for her brother's prom in J.WW Marriot , ,made friends with her parents and even got shows because of her contacts . How time flies . I met many people whom I've not seen for quite a while at the party including Yee Ming .

Imgp1867a
Me, Mei Sze and Yee Ming

I also met Yee How at the party . How crazy is that? , we'll be hangin out once Anson is back and Anson ! bring it ON! you'll die at the gym man ...la***** . Haha , old NS days .

Imgp1869a
Me and Yee How

Food at the party was excellent , got to talk to old time friends and catch up ,and  even JUN YL was there for goodness sake . What a small world ! I also got to make some show contacts from an event company and got to know some really cool dude dabbling in property investment , something I want to venture in the future .

Imgp1870a
Me,Yee Ming , Meizs , and Yee How before saying our goodbyes .

It seems everyone is graduating( or have graduated like Meizs) so it's high time to REALLY seize the day . Got to work hard , met alot of successful people these days and they told me the trip to the top ain't a piece of cake . `Carp Diem ! '

David Tao's concert

Some time ago while I was still at MTR ( for those of you who don't know what MTR is...nyeh nyeh nyeh), many people resembled me to David Tao . I had no idea who was David Tao then, and thought he's some damn cun looking HK superstar . I loved his song `Ai Hen Jian Dan ' , which was always played in MTR but I never knew what he looked liked?

Then one day , my friend and old classmate Kel Wynn came up and told me this after I was telling her of the above topic...

Kel-Wynn : David Tao damn talented wan wei...but he dam kau ugly also !!

Ya Ee La Wah , but when I went to check the internet , he looked `OK' wat(way above average, and i'm not just saying that to jaga muka) ...girls these day have too high standard wei .

Anyhow , I finally got to see  David Tao  thanks to  my friend  Christien . He got me VIP tickets for David's concert here in Bukit Jalil and I'm very thankful for the oppoutunity . It was my 1st Chinese concert but I enjoyed every bit of it .

Imgp1760a_1
David singing `Ai Hen Jian Dan '

Penny Tai also appeared on stage and mesmerized the crowd with her vocals . David and penny even did a `Beetle's ' song duet in ENGLISH!!

Imgp1771a
David and Penny Tai on stage

Imgp1740a
Now I know `who' sits in a concert....

They were quite a number of prominent Taiwanese artists and bands that came to perform . Nicholas Teo was there , Vic Chow and my favourite of the night , apart from David tao was `Da Mouth ' . Makuku , the girl in the band really knew how to use her curves . All the guys went gaga at the concert and even the word `gaga' is an understatement  . Watch their music video here !(it's at the end of the post, damn funky wei their music)

The worst performance of the night beloged to a band called `BOYFRIENDS ' ...My gosh , who calls a male boy band `Boy Friends ' ???????????? Dam freaking kau kau ghey wei . Morever they danced liked....OWH....headache la man . Christien and I laughed so hard man .

Imgp1741a
Their tagline was ` We are BOooy...FRIENDs! '...makuku

Apart from that , it was a fantastic concert to say the least with great company . Really want to thank Christien and Lavin for the tickets and company !

Imgp1785a

Thanks!

Magician kena tiu by Police

Was driving back after work today and a friend of mine called . I picked up the phone  to `off' it since I was on the highway as well as to look who was calling (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE !)...I tell you , I din't pick it up , If I did , I would state here blatantly that I did , but I din't .

Then out of a sudden a police car appears right in front of me and asks me to pull over . Ayo , I know kena tiu di . I pull over and saw who was calling . Makuku, it better be worth it .

The policeman comes over and asks me to roll down my window .

Police : Selamat petang encik , boleh tengok lesen memandu?

I took him out and showed him lar..

Police:Encik , sekarang ada ops sikap, compound terus RM300.00, Kena bayar terus , tak boleh memohon appeal .

Me in my mind :`Waaah, this guy can use the word  `appeal!' , not bad wor...'

I tried to reason with him saying that I din't pick up the phone but what proof did I had ? Kena tolak terus .

Police:Saya belum tulis apa-apa lagi , jadi macam mana ni ? Kalau dah tulis, tak boleh buat apa-apa ya ? Macam mana...??

Kena pressure kau kau...luckily I was in this situation many times already . I don 't mean that I kena tiu by the police many times , but was in many friend's cars that got stopped .

Me:Aiseyman...boleh settle sini ah?Tolong lar.

Policeman:You kerja mana?

Me:Saya belum kerja lagi, buat research, masih student , tengok sticker , itu UTP punya sticker.

Police:UTP?Apa bendak tu?

Babi....I'm never going to mention I'm from UTP ever again .

Me: Settle sini saja la ya ?

Then in comes his wingman , this guy played the role of the bad cop ...makuku and boy did he play his role well !

Police 2: OKOK, tapi minimum RM200 .

I wana tiu him di , but out of respect and cowardness..

Me:Ayo,saya hanya ada RM35,sorry bang, RM35 saja .

Police showed a muka busuk then said

Police:Ok,lipat dan taruk bawah, cepat...

Then they went off .....

If that was half of my troubles , it would have still been ok . Lan tiu , I FORGOT MONEY FOR TOLL!!! I REALLY only had RM35 on me at that time and only had `cents' lying around in my car . I really thought I would have to beg at the toll booth di ....

I won't tell you how the story ends, but I'll tell you that it involves be ransacking my whole damn car in the middle of the highway till the tip of my boot to find RM1.70 worth of coins lying around!!

Really kena tiu by Police today!

I'm scared!!!Arggh!

It takes a tough man to overcome his fears , and not many of us have the courage to do just that . The absolute reason why the vast majority live in mediocority is because we are scared to challenge our limits .

Many talented people say a simple life is all they want , but have they ever tried to push themselves and see what life beholds ? Sucess only favours those who want to suceed .

I have to suceed , I was born to be sucessful . I have to overcome my fears . Impossible is nothing !

`IF YOU THINK YOU CAN , YOU CAN ! '

J'CO+Kenny Sia= HUMOUR+Magic

Ok , the title doesn't really make much sense , but the story to it does .

I promised Kenny a few months ago to give him something that I invented . I don 't think I can disclose for who or what purpose it's for , but in simple lay man terms , I thought him a `trick ' . I never got the time to send him his stuff but after a few months , I finally met up with him in the newly opened J'CO at Piramid.

Imgp1639
Me,Kenny and Samantha at J'Co ,after Kenny performed what I taught him

Kenny promised he'd practice , so the next time you see him , please do ask him .. ` Kenny , show me a trick!  ' . I hope he entertain the lights out of you .

Show for JANSSEN-CILAG

I'm going to try to make this post a little more meaningful than the rest of my `SHOWs ' posts . Instead of just blindly typing away , I would like to do a `readable' coverage since tomorrow is a public holiday . Hey, I like maintaining my blog OK ! In years to come , I can look back and see what did I do .

A couple of weeks ago , I got a call from Derrick Yoong to do a show for his friend . His friend turned out to be an employee for a huge pharmaceutical company called JANSSEN-CILAG . I have never heard of them before but Derrick's friend JUN YI was such a nice person on the phone that I immediately accepted the show ( She turned out to be an absolutely great host during the show too ) .

Imgp1717
Me , JUN YI and Derrick after my performance

Not only was Jun Yi pretty and  very friendly in person, she was also the organizer of the whole event . She made sure I had water during my performance , a seat and catered for all my needs . Thanks so much !

Derrick also dropped by to perform for the kids but ended up becoming my assistant for the show . Thanks bro ! Appreciate it !
Imgp1715
Me and Derrick at the front desk in PJ Hilton

I met Derrick at a camp 3 years ago and somehow his interest in MAGIC sparked then . Look at his thumb fan now! It's freaking better than mine ! I haven't been doing cards for a very long time . Time really flies these days , Derrick has graduated since and is working as an engineer now .

I was to perform for the adults in the show and the children had their own entertainment . The show went on really well and here are snapshots of it , coutesy of Derrick .

I was also performing for the VIPs , including Tan Sri Arrifin and his son wanted me to do a show in the future show for his company ( Prima Group ) . A great contact to make and worth the whole show put together .

Alltogether , the show was a great show to say the least . I want to thank Derrick for the contacts , JUN YL for being such a nice host and JANSSEN-CILAG for having me at their annual dinner .

Show at La Bodega , Bangsar

Today was one of the shows that I had most fun at . The enviroment was superb , made alot of new clients and chatted with plenty of great people . If only every show could be like this  , I wouldn't mind giving MAGIC a chance to be my fulltime carrier .

Anyways , the show was at La Bodega , Bangsar . It was at their Lounge upstairs and it was a very nice place .The ambience was great and very relaxing , not mentioning that it was a great place for a date  . They even had their own small library filled with books .

Imgp1648
What a nice place to sit down and just relax

My main clients today were called`ESSENCE' an event managing company , and they were holding a Christmas party for their clients . They brought me in as entertainment . The staff treated me really well and were a joy to perform to! .

Imgp1657
Shen Li,Kerry , Me , Audrey , Ping , Denise and Manpreet

I also got to meet many future clients and made many new friends along the way . Somehow , I was in very good form and all comments I received were positive . It's a very good day for me .

Imgp1652

I also got to meet the JobsDB.com General manager and his team who were absolutely wonderful people . They kept pumping me with alchohol for the wrong reasons . Haha . I'll be helping them for their job fair in February at KL Convention Centre .

Imgp1655
Me , Cherry , Christine and Stephen ( JobsDB.com 's , GM )

And while performing , somehow I also met my biological aunty there , Tai Kim! So shock to see my own aunty there . She just moved to the company it seems .
Imgp1656
Me and my aunty , Tan Tai Kim

All together it was a fantastic show to say the least . Alchohol was pumping ( I am half drunk as I'm typing this ) , food was good , place was great and I had a very enjoyable time . Oh ya, when I checked the business card that I collected , I even found this at the back of one :

Imgp1658

I'm not going to tell you who it was ( and it's a SHE OK!!! ) , I knew you guys thought it was a HE already ...!!..I think she just had one too many drinks , and din 't know what the hell to do with a pen lying around .=)..haha

The weird friends I have

Today while in the office doing some calculations and memorizing my script(for tonight's La Bodega show) , I received a message from my UNI friend TINAGARAN . This guy is smart but has the tendency to be weird and outrightly gay at times . He's a really good friend , but I just wonder why does he try to grab me everytime I get close...yuks .

Anyway , this was how the smses went...I was sitting down in office and in came an sms from Tina ...

______________________________________________________________

Friendster Cafe Opening, Piramid

You've heard it right , the all so famous Mont Kiara's Friendster Cafe has spread it's wings to Sunway Piramid . Got a call from Josh for their opening and went with him and Simon(starceleb.tv) to Friendster . It so happens to also be the owner's birthday , JERRY , so it turned out to be a double celebration .

Met alot of familiar faces there , Victor, Leng Yein and John , most of Hypertune and sport car related event goers . Also did a short performance for the owners , Jerry and his bro Jeffrey who were nice chaps . Beer was on the house, Food was on the house and carrolers were singing away .

Imgp1646

The strange thing was that the place was packed with girls , most whom I've seen in Hypertune . Loads of models attended the opening  and I got to know that they were Jerry's

friends . My friend , Christy Chiang , who is FHM's Girl Next Door Winner is one of the models for Friendster's banner ads .

And yes , the lamb shank is really worth a try .I had it for dinner . Not a lamb shank fan  , but it's a `HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ' from me .

Yes, Leng Yein , also invited me to a laugerie models event in RUMMs happening on the 22nd . I'm in Singapore at that time , but for anybody who wants to go you can contact Leng Yein here

Another sucessful event . The contacts made were more than worth it .

AT Battle of the Bands

I spoke with Kenny Sia a few weeks ago and he said he'd be coming down to KL for Battle of The Bands . Had no idea what was it about but decided to pay a visit . Hey , I like listening to bands anyway .=)

The judges of the day was Kenny and Hannah Tan and boy did they take their judging seriously .

Imgp1624a
Kenny marking the score sheet attentively

Anyway , the event turned out really great and I truly enjoyed myself . I also bumped in with Christien New and Lavin on the way . Lavin looked really good in her new hair do! Christien and Lavin were very kind to keep me company .

Imgp1625a
Hannah,Christien , Me and Lavin at the judging booth

Imgp1612a
The whole group , ME , Kenny, Jason Goh(manager of Mr.Potato Chips) , Lavin , CN and Hannah

I tell you Mr.Potato Chips were the official sponsors of the event and boy were chips lying everywhere . Every once in a while Hannah would asks ` Want some CHIPs? ' and I'd say ` SURE ' ...I think I'm loaded with Chips by the time I got home .

While walking around , I also got to meet my friends Damien from VE , but he left off after he performed . Haven't seen him in a while . Also got to chat with Azwin after his performance . I always liked his band and bloody hell , it seems like he's getting taller everytime we meet each other .

Imgp1627a
He's blardee tall ok , he gets taller everytime you see him

Also met back OAG who gave a wonderful performance . Radhi was sweating like a dog  after his  show man . He was like , ` Yo bro , Yo bro ,  wats up , water man, can you magic water ? ' ...I wish , then I'll get a fulfilling job at Spritzer .

Imgp1633a
Actually , both of us were sweating like crazy ...now I really wish I could make water appear

At the judges booth , I also got to chat with Denise and Adam C .Denise was really friendly and this is the first time I've ever chatted with her . It's also true that she has a HUGE mouth . Man , she has the largest smile I've seen in a while .

Imgp1622a

Imgp1623a
With Adam who was always holding a ciggie , cough* cough*

In the end , I really can 't tell you who won because we were all chatting away at the judges booth . All I can say is that if you were not there , you missed the chance to see Kenny Sia and Hannah Tan doing a Hokkien duet . That my friend, is a once in a lifetime oppourtunity .

Imgp1621a

Kenny and Hannah with their Hokkien Duet

The event ended at about mid-night and boy was I already runned down ( low battery already man ) . Before I left , I went mamaking with Kenny and Samantha for a while before heading home .

A really really tiring day , but a very enjoyable one . Thanks to CN and Lavin for keeping me company , Kenny , for telling me about the event and Hannah for being a great friend to chat with .

Kudos guys , going to pengsan now.

Show for Dreager Safety

I was recently contacted by these relatively new events company called ` JUZ ONE STUDIO ' to do a close up show for a corporate company . I have never heard of them before but decided to take the job since I enjoy doing close-up .

The show was for a Safety Company called Draeger Safety . It handles oxygen masks and all type of repiratory devices . This is going to be interesyting .

The event was held at Sri Ayutthaya, PJ , a really elegant place to have THAI food .
Imgp1609

When I reached the venue , I was shocked to see the whole management of juz One Studio comprimising of people my own age . WOW . What an event company . Allthough young , they were very capable in managing and handling the whole event . The MC for the night , Justin , really looked like he's still in highschool ( which i think he is ) . This reminded of the days when i used to do shows while studying in my former highschool . Age really does not matter , The whole team handled everything smoothly .

My performance for the night was greatly complimented and am very happy with how the guest responded . Juz One Studios even booked me for another event in IPOH...Owh IPOH , guess I'm going to see you again before the TIME is up .

Here are shots of me performing and more shots will be added when I get the pics from J.O.S .
Imgp1600a

Imgp1602a

After the show was done , the clients graciously invited me to dine with them. The food was delicious might I say , Lobster , Crabs , Honey Chicken , Clams ...owh man , going to get fat like a PIG if I eat like this everyday . My GF can really call me a PIG then ...

Imgp1610a_1

Yes, they even offered me ber , dun worry , I was still alert after the event .=) . Thanks to Juz One Studios for being such a great host( Clarice and Virginia , thanks! ) and to Draeger Safety's employees  for being wonderful  people to perform for .

Magician got tagged

Dsc_0087b
I got tagged by MeiQ , and I'm suppose to write 7 random facts and habits about myself that nobody knows off . MeiQ tagged me once a very long time ago but I was too busy then to reply the tag ,so this time , give her face lar..hehe

I have no idea why friendster's blog script doesn't allow me to copy and paste words into my blog and I've got type the dang rules out all over again .

I'm gonna have to tag 7 other people which these 7 other people will continue to tag 7 other people to continue to write up on their 7 habits/facts . I'm not sure whether I have even enough blog friends to comply with the rules but here goes .

7 random facts and habits on David Lai

1)I used to play chess alot . My life used to be revolving around chess . Chess books , chess programs , chess tournaments and ya , even fancied girls whom I met at chess tournaments . I started out with a few of my best friends and after I gave chess up , they all went up really high . Two of my good friends are National Masters , NMs and one more is a Fide Master, FM . I really wonder some times ,what would have happened if I continued to play on .

2)I'm still a child at heart . I still do silly things like wrestle with guys on my bed , and do stupid Kame Hame Ha poses relinquishing Dragon Ball Z memories  and Princess Diaries scenes of two guys having their first kiss .

3)I loved Highschool alot , If I could , I would want to go back to highschool . Aaah , highschool , some of my best memories happened there . If you get caught for killing a person in Highschool, you go to a juvenile detention center ,  at my age now , they sentence you to death . Which do you think is better ?

4)I'm dating a TUPAI .

5)I want to be really really sucessful by 25 . Sucessful as in being really happy with where I am in life . Have a good relationship with my loved ones and am financially independent . Yes, by 25 and I really mean it .

My car 2 years plus ago . I still love it to bits

6)I'm half Sarawakian . My mom's from a kampung in Sarawak and my dad is from Kuantan . Every year , I'll be in Sarawak for at least a couple of days .

7)I used to be a health freak . Please be reminded that I used the word used . If it was not because of my parents , I would have given nutrition a chance . I used to only eat meat , no carbohydrates , gym 5 times a week , carry extremely heavy weights , drink supplements like glutamine, creatine , protein, amino , and a fat burner to top it off and spent thousands on my new found hobby .... I've stopped and taken it a level down after some time .

-I'm not gonna tag 7 other people lar , kesian them ni , I waste 45 minutes doing this posts ...ayoyo -

Show for Wallace's Wedding

I got an e-mail 6 months ago from a guy named Wallace who was reciding in Canada . He asked me to do a show for his wedding way forward in November . Time flew really fast and just a 2 weeks ago , his wedding came along and it was a beautiful wedding indeed.

The wedding was held at the Banker's Club way up in Menara Amoda in front of Times Square . I never knew there was such a place and the venue was simply made for a wedding . It has all the touches of elegance that would make a wedding memorable . I met my friend Andrew Lee there who was kind enough to snap the following shots for me .

The Bride and Groom . Chicka and Wallace . Yes the bride was a Japanese and Wallace might I say is one of the friendliest guys I've met in a long long time . He took care of all the performers and treated them like VIPs . Chika has gotta be one lucky girl!

20071125_alst86231

I also met Alan Wong who was a spelendid MC and wedding coordinator . I highly recommend him for any events and have just recommended him for two events that I'm invited to do shows for . A really pleasant chap who is willing to help and a very caring person . www.wong.net.my

I also met one of Malaysia's best electric violinist Dennis Lau who was also performing at the event . Should hit the gym one day with this guy . He's really buffed and a very good violinist to say the least . www.mosaic.com.my

Here are pics of me performing for the guest(courtesy of Andrew Lee)

You can see Alan watching me at every performance .haha . Owh man, I just felt guilty that I had to rush on the day due to reasons most of you know .

Thanks again to Wallace for being such a great host , Alan for giving great advice , Andrew for the pics  , and I sincerely wish the bride and groom , Wallace and Chika a wonderful life ahead ! BLESS YOU BOTH and CONGRATULATIONS!

Enjoying what you do: LIFE

It is often said that if you enjoy what you do , work then becomes PLAY . I see many people who are unhappy with the path they choose ( or somebody else picked it for them ) and are just living their life due to the fact that it is a norm , something that society will look as a decent and `correct' way of living .

Many people are scared of taking the `Road Less Travelled ' and are bounded by the fears of society . Society says study hard ,  get a good job with your above average grades , and remember to practice your faith . You will then have a blessed , sucessful and happy life .

I say BULLSHIT . Downright BULLSHIT .

Image006
My Happy Table 5 years ago

Now we know why they aren't too many ` rich ' people lying around .

Wait , before you go on lifting up your eye browns ...Yes I know , sucess can 't be measured by the ammount of wealth you hold . I'm not defining sucess as to earn much more money than your peers . That's a trap many fall in . My terms of sucess  is having a great job , still have time for myself and loved ones , while not worrying the crap on how am I going to pay for my car loan on the end of the month .

Some RICH people are living in pitiful sorrow , but trying to get rich doesn't mean you will have to take that path , and the measurement of your wealth is a universal indicator of how sucessful you are in life.Do I want to get rich ? HELL YEAH . SUPER RICH ?...well as I said, enough to be finalcially secured and still have time to do the things I love .

Even that is a vague description of `SUCESS' in my terms .

I can't even start to begin how many decisions in my life were governed by fear , and the outcomes due to those decisions are painfully regrettable . I let other people make decisions for me , waste alot of time , and got a screwed up thinking because of that .

Dsc00328_2
Waliau, I can 't explain how stupid I felt filtering rock particles ...wat is the purpose!??

All I can say now is that , if you're reading this , do have the courage to make that `JUMP ' you wanted to make for all so long . Don 't let your parents , your dog  or whoever else make that decision for you . It's not selfish , it's your life . And YOU've got to take care of yourself before you can take care of others .

BOLD ? Of course I'm BOLD , life was never a walk in the park to begin with . Breaking from the norm takes courage , alot of it .

SHOW for IACT's ART Festival

My friend Sebastian called me up to do a show for IACT's Art Festival . Call me forgetfull , but I have forgotten what IACT really stands for . It's the Advertising College at Damansara which I wanted to join in 4 years ago . Institute of Advertising Communication Training? Hope I got it right ( I just googled it , yes I did!) .

Anyway, the show went great and the purpose of the ART's Festival was to raise funds for two orphanages . UNFORTUNATELY on the show itself , one of the orphange got infected with chicken pox and the other children( from the other home) got sick from a viral fever . The event still went on though , but the children went back early from the event .

With the entertainers for the event

the person who is wearing the suite and red sleeves is ANDY . he was suppose to perform for the kids but as I said , sickness prevailed . Anyhow , everybody on TOP ( yes , including me ) performed well for the audience . It was a pleasure to see Jen  and the rest perform .

Imgp1574a
Performing for IACT's lecturers

I stuck to mentalism for the whole performance and din't really touch much on cards and sleight of hand for the day . The audience response was very good to say the least .

Imgp1581a
Many local bands were performing during the event

The highlight ( which many would say) was when the belly dancer came out ,RAZ (Razif Hashim of 8TV Quickie) who was the emcee at the moment quickly rushed out front to have a front view and asked me to tag along. Man she got asked for 3 repeated performances...crazee, that was how people liked her.haha

Imgp1585a
Guess who's ciggie is in the pic?haha

Imgp1587a

Yes, as you can see , there was nobody infront of us..so you know where were we seating...

Imgp1588a
We were still wild after the 2nd performance

All in all a great day and got to meet STEVE of FLY.FM who said he'll propose to get me up on air . CROSSING FINGERS , please NOT during my training in Philippines ! GREAT show, with great guys , good magicians and friendly host .

SOMETHING VERY IMPORTANT THAT I LEARNED

I'll give credit where credit is due and RAZ has got to be one of the most enthusiastic emcees I've ever had the chance to work with . In Perak , In Sunway and now in Mont Kiara , he never fails to keep the momentum up and going no matter what the crowd size is . FANTASTIC . In other words very professional . His energy is always up when performing . I've got to learn to be like that .

Overall , a great DAY!

Philippines here I come

?I see people flying off to UK , Germany ,  Dubai  , Sudan and even some to Singapore ( Singapore one take train la ) for training. The  reason why I picked a local company in Malaysia is so that I could concentrate on my shows and divulge in what I liked to do for the next coming months . I had enough of travelling back and forth from Perak , and after 2 hours of performing , drive up back , drink a RED BULL and prepare for a FINAL paper . Can crap in my pants man . Multiple craps for the matter of fact .

Anyway , let me tell you a little story before i proceed . When I was 16 , I was in a ROTEX program to Makati Philippines and fell in love with the country there . My host family who hosted me there last time owns a unique construction company like one you've never seen before . They are involved in the construction of very artistic structures .  www.mdcc.com.ph

When I was in Philippines , I was amazed by the structures and buildings they built so I decided why not I give my host family's son JOSE a call and ask him whether i could do my training there( JOSE is now the VP of the company) .... To cut the long story short ....MABUHAY ( It's welcome in Tagalog) . I'm most probably going back to Makati, Philippines in the very near future . YAHOO !

Working life

Some of you might have know and realized that I have already started working . Yes ,a normal 8.30am to 5.30pm job .

I shall keep the comments of what I think about my working life for myself . For those of you geniuses out there ,YES, my boss found out I have a blog .

Why have I started working ? It's COMPULSORY and if I stated WHY , I'll have to use profanity , so I'll stop at that since most of my clients reads this blog ...and in Malaysia , I have learned that profanity is not marketable .

I have no other option but to have a normal working job for now and shall try to make full use of it . Hopefully . I will be still doing my shows but no day-time shows for now .

Oh ya, I'm finally hitting back at the gym starting tomorrow . I've became a lazy PIG from God Forsaken UTP . Got to get my body back and then try to learn alot of other new stuff that I have been yearning to learn ...Yeah, it's back to weight, a good healthy diet , lots of reading and loads of practice sessions .

A dull posts ...but hey , It could have been much worse . Believe me , it could have been much worse .

Oh well, at least the gym has always been a good place to release some stress . Have to decipline myself to carry heavy again ....

Show for EQUIN NIGHT

I was recently asked to do a close up show for Prince William and the Royal Family ( The yang Dipertuan Agung and Permaisuri Agong ). The event was held at Nikko hotel in Jalan Ampang . The company who corresponded with me were Emagineers , a wonderful event company who were very great to work with .

The event was one of the most lavish events I've ever been to and it was decorated in such a way that guests were seem to be brought back to the MEDIEVAL times ( ironicly , that was the theme of the day , `Medievel Times ').

Honorable guests of the day included the Yang Dipertuan Agong , Ambasadors from other countries, Artistes such as Datuk Siti and many members of the Royal Family . As a last minute change, I was really dissapointed that Prince William who was suppose to represent his father could not make it .The reason?...until today I still ponder why...whyee?!!

Here are some of the pictures from the event:

It was a GREAT event to say the least and everything about it was just fabulous . Elegant and very classy .

Thanks alot to Emagineers who were in charge of hiring me .

UMP Convo SHOW

Ladies and Gentleman!I'm back, and I'm back for GOOD! I've been away for far too long trying to design filters filtering human faeces and working on the blueprints of two storey computer labs . Now, lets get back to what makes this BLOG all so magical !

Here are some updates!

-The view from Sungai Pahang while taking a break

I was invited by the secretariat of University Malaysia Pahang to do a show for their 2nd Convocation in Kuantan . The pay was good and I decided to take a bus trip up with my assistant and friend Wui Keong to help me out . Mind you ,I wasn't going to drive up 5 hours ...It'll be way too tiring to do a show then ....I've tried it , and boy...

For those of you who don't know , my hometown is Kuantan, Pahang and I was born in the Hospital Besar Kuantan . It has been quite a while since I've visited the place where I was born .Memories...

The bus ride took a whole 5 hours and I'll never ever sit a bus ride again to go to a show . It's darn right too stressful . To think the bus ride to Johor Bahru for the Citibank show din't teach me enough ...so i don't want to drive and don't want to sit a bus...how do I go to a far away show the next time??

This was the 1st ever show I did in Bahasa Melayu and  I had to revamp my whole script for the show . It took tedious memorization to get the script with the show's flow considering my rusted BM .

Here are pictures of me performing my blindfold routine on stage and also walking around performing mentalism and metal bending .

All in all , the show was a sucess and I learned alot from the experience of performing in Malay . I really hope to work again with UMP in the near future and want to shout out a big thank you to all the members of UMP who helped me out and hosted me that day! You guys were GREAT hosts!
