GYM with Christien New..blardee dead!

It's been a long time since I worked out till my body hurts . Guess I haven't been working out much then have I ? I was sick the whole of last week and din't really visit the gym much . If I went , I'd play with moderate weights ( moderate on my account) .I love gyming, must kau kau already since CNY coming soon , must look good in CNY photoes !!

Imgp1894_1
Chichi, Me , Christien and his wife Lavin

Christien called me up for a gym session and ironicly we both have stated many times that we wanted to hit the gym together but never had the oppourtunity ...Anyways , I went with him today to Fitness First the Curve , wasn't expecting much , just a normal work out ...buttt....Boy was I wrong!

Makuku , the 1st thing we both did was shoulder press with a shoulder press machine . I usually use a smith machine and wasn't familiar with the movement of this new alien machine in front of me ....We started with 20kgs shoulder presses , which was quite easy ....And then doubled it to 40kgs of 6 reps , 3 sets . Almost shat in my pants . Never knew Christien could carry so heavy ... and he did this by himself , without me spotting !

We then moved on to 3 sets of 25lbs  flyes ( which I'm still capable of doing ) , then incline flyes with the same weight for 3 sets . I almost kantoi already with that heavy weight , but pushed on . GO HEAVY or GO HOME !

After that , 25kgs of bicep curls for 3 sets , and finally 3 sets of 25lbs dumbell curls and 20lbs of cool down 8 reps for 3sets . I know many of you would have gotten confused with the analogy used . Sorry lah , excercise terms . In total , we did :

20 kg shoulder presses , 12 reps ( warm-up)
80 kg shoulder presses , 6 reps for 3 sets
25lbs flyes , 8 reps for 3 sets
25lbs incline flyes , 6 reps for 3 sets
25kg biceps barbell curl , 6 reps for 3 sets
25lbs dumbell curls , 6 reps for 3 sets
20lbs dumbell curls , 8 reps for 3 sets

I'm dead already . I tried washing my hair when I showered and my hands just wouldn't go up  . Christien , you da man . Next time watch out , I'll get stronger and make you suffer !!

My TUPAI T-Shirt

Tupai got me a T-SHIRT on her trip to Bangkok earlier this month . A really cute blue T-SHIRT that has a TUPAI on it .

Permaisuriperompaktupai
taken from everybodyloveschichi.blogspot.com

See how creative my tupai is with Photoshop?....Anyways , I love the shirt , who wouldn't ? Someone brought it all the way back from Bangkok for me . Unfortunately , there is one little problem ...

Davidintupai

Imgp1955

It's far too tiny for me , it almost burst the last time I wore it ... Heys , but that doesn't mean I don't love it ? =) , which I do . My first tight fitting shirt ....I'm willing to bet Tupai won't dare go out with me if I wore that shirt on ...When I wear the shirt , I'm like wearing a mini tee , even my navel can be seen ...and that is sooo wrong .

My Dad , a lift and a stranger...

Sorry for not updating as regularly as before . Am swamped ( it that even a word ? ) with work and have no time to maintain my humble blog . Anyways , this is an incident that I would really like to share ....Once apon a time...tralala

After work , I accompanied my dad to watch Rambo 4 in the cinema..WOW! and it rocks ! It was really violent until the Indian auntie in front , closed her eyes with her palms and yelled `AMA!' when body parts were flying . I'm telling you , it was violent , very violent . You could see body parts flying in every frame .

Rambo_l

I wouldn't recommend the film for the faint hearted...but for the gore freaks out there , a MUST WATCH !

...Anyways , after the show , which was about 11pm , my dad and I and many other patrons of the show went to take the lift down to the basement ( where we parked our car ) ...Alamak , after all of us crowded the whole life , the lift JAMMED ! SHIT ! I thought kena kantoi already, spend the whole night in a lift after watching Rambo 4 !

Elevator_1

And then a miracle happened ...the lift opened after we waited for a frightening 1 minute . Fuuh . It looked like the lift was stuck at the same floor and wouldn't move . Everybody quickly came out of the lift ...

Except for my dad ( in which forced me to remain in the lift ) and a stranger whose face was all macho . My dad decided to give it another try . He pressed the `basement button ' and followed by the `close door' button .....And the thing got stucked again !!. I thought that the lift would open after a minute, but it freaking hell din' t ! SHIT , even the macho stranger in the lift started to sweat on his forehead . Ayo, really crappy man ...damn scared already .

After a minute and a half , the lift opened...at the same flooragain . We quickly took the stairs , climbing 5 floors down ....

To sum out the whole story , we went into a lift , it got stucked , Thank God it opened , Then we tried it again ....Just to get stuck for another round...

Show for CYTEC Asia Pacific

Imgp1970_2
I got called up by Outloud Events a couple of months ago to do a foyer show for a corporate company . The company was CYTEC , Surface Specialities Trading (M) Sdn. Bhd ..and till t
oday I have no idea what they `do ' .

The event was held in The Saujana Kuala Lumpur , and the ironic part was that I was seaching for where on earth was the venue ....and found out later that it was located opposite my humble engineering office where I spend my weekdays . Bah , talk about stupidity and beyond...

The theme of the night was `LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION '...and for those of you still in the blur , the night was themed as a `movie' night ...I came a little bit toooooo early for the event as you can see from the next pic .
Imgp1957

Even the tables weren't even set-up yet

Imgp1958
After an hour....

The night was a little special for me...You see, I've seen many emcees , professional , celebrities ...well, you name it . But the particular EMCEE for the night , Jone Bond , takes the term emcee to a whole different level . He sings , he dances , he jogets , he changes his wig , he changes in front of me...Oh well , in events that require something `different' I'd definitely recommend him .

Imgp1967

That's him , Jone Bond...

Imgp1969

With the emotionless Zorro...

Overall , I would say that my show went very well and the organizers were very happy with my performance . They said that they'll definitely want to work with me again ...and that my friend , is worth more than the pay itself . The pictures of me performing are with OUTLOUD at the moment being but they'll mail it to me by next week . Will update this post then .

I really do think I'm improving with every show I take and still have alot to learn along the way . The last few show's feedback have been very positive and I hope it will continue on like that ...

Imgp1962

Your performance was very good ! People kept asking me after the show whether or not I was your confederate . I denied everything because I myself have no idea how you read my mind . I would definitely love to have you back .

Scary Public Speaking

Research say that public speaking is the NUMBER ONE fear in human beings  .

Imgp1672

Imgp1970_1

The show i just came back from an hour ago

If public speaking is people's biggest fear , man am I under a whole lot of stress when I go up on stage . The ammount/magnitude of stress I feel just before going up on stage is HUGE . It's the type of stress you feel just before you open your goverment exam papers ... YOU DON't KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT .

All in all , I love what I do . I get to meet great people and earn good money ...I'm still waiting for the day when I go up on stage and feel like the most confident person in the world...Ok , back to my studies ..

Tentative: April 4th and February 24th

It's going to be a packed CNY and a hectic February . I also have an interview with KLUE next month so have to sharpen up my act . For any show enquries , you can drop me an e-mail at davidlai308@hotmail.com . * I won't be doing any shows in MARCH as I'll be in Makati ,Phillipines again *

Tangkap Basah...or kering?

This was a really awkward moment ...

C640

My co-worker asked me to help him transfer some files from his handphone to my laptop through bluetooth . The pictures were culverts which he took in Kedah .

After uploading the pictures in my laptop , I transfered it to my thumbdrive and then to his desktop .... While I was tranfering the pictures into his desktop .. a `TING ' sound was heard( the sound you hear from your microwave) , and an IMESH icon popped out .

`Tranfers completed , big black cock  in ..... '

I do not want to complete the whole sentence ..

A knife could have cut through the silence at that moment . He was sitting on the office chair , while I was whistling like nothing ever happened ...both staring away from the monitor while waiting for the transfer to complete ...

Now , that my friend was one hell of an awkward moment ...

Pack the dance floor UPDATE

A BIG thank you , to this two generous souls for taking the pictures while I was performing .

Joshua Ong
Sandra

I always encountered the problem of not having pictures from my professional shows due to the fact that I had no one in the audience that I knew beforehand to take the pictures for me . Lucky to say that I now have many close professional phothographer friends who are helping me out at the moment for my corporate shows . Anyway , these are the pictures from the long overdue Pack The Dance Floor dance marathon . I din't bring anyone to snap the pictures for me at P24 so have been hunting down phothographers from the event over the past two weeks ....paiseh

Some aftershow performance

I had great fun at P24! My next show will on this Saturday . Aiz , loads of preperation to do , but at this age , lots of show equals a lot of `peluang cari makan '!

Me in other people's BLOG

I was doing a search through GOOGLE and found myself in blogs I never knew I'd be in . I'd like to share a few and want to thank those who've written really nice things about me . Some are a little old , some I've already read in the past and some I've just discovered . Here they are :

Two of my magician friend's blog , Darren and Nazri( who's from Brunei ) . Great friends and fantastic people to work with . Darren's article was way back in JULY 2005 while I just worked with Nazri at Souled Out Christmas Eve's night .

Fuuh , I just realised that there are so many other links in so many other blogs ...OMG, I don 't think I can finish this post in one GO . Will update it from time to time ... Once again , thanks guys for the good word .

Lingam making Malaysia look bodoh

I have never blogged about politics neither have I touched on the subject ever since I started blogging . I try to refrain from typing about politics due to the fact that I do not want to be put under ISA and get stuck there for a few months( or years ) learning that the current goverment is `actually ' the BEST there is ... I started this humble blog as a way to entertain myself and let my creative juices flow when I had nothing better to do ( and usually , I really don't have anything better to do )

Somehow , over time , traffic picked up ( from my busy body friends and ex-schoolmates who I miss and love so much ) , so I changed my focus  . The main purpose of my blog these days is to get clients to employ me for shows , and boy  has it served it's purpose well . I usually get about an average of 6 calls a week enquiring about my services ( my magical services , don 't go thinking about other stuff )

I don't photoshop my pictures , I hardly observe the spelling and grammar on my posts , and I use a cheap PENTAX camera I went shopping with my girlfriend at Lowyat to take my pictures with . I don 't have a specific theme to my blog and I just blog about whatsoever happens in a magical 21 year old guy's life .

BUT what I SAW TODAY in the papers REALLY deserves to be mentioned in my BLOG !

If you have not been following the Lingam case , I'm sorry  , but I would have to label you as being ignorant . I'm not generalizing but even if the Indonesian janitor  in my office knows about Lingam , I think you should at least know `something ' is going on about a video clip concerning

an Indian lawyer .( I usually come to work early and have chats with the humble and down to earth janitor that cleans the office )

Now getting back to the point . The video clip so clearly states that IT IS HIM yet he's trying to play around with the law stating that

`IT LOOK LIKE ME and SOUNDS LIKE ME... '

and then , lantiu ,doesn't want to admit that it IS him ? When the Royal Commission asks him:

`So you're saying that it could be you ? '

he  then blatantly replies :

`AS I SAID, IT LOOKS LIKE ME AND SOUNDS LIKE ME . I'M GOING TO GIVE THE SAME ANSWER EVEN IF YOU ASKS ME A 100 TIMES ! '

Even the guy selling roti canai and Ramly burger outside my house also will know that Lingam was the one in the video brokering the appointment of judges after looking at the evidence . The clip was shot at his house ( and that is already proven ) , the person who shot the clip already stated that the person in the clip is Lingam  and for goodness sake , this capelang guy walks in and out of court smiling cheekily like he has done somethingwrong but there was no LEGAL way of proving it .

IF somehow , and I mean SOMEHOW , the Royal Commission ends up with the decision that the person in the clip can't be proven as LINGAM , I'd go up to Tan Sri Haidar and give him a big wake up slap , make sure it gets recorded on CCTV and say this when I'm trialed for human assault :

`Well sir , it looks like me and SOUNDS like me ....but that just ain't me ...'

My house got robbed , blardee hell!

I got an sms from my mom while I was in the office working and it started like this :

` 3 INDIAN MEN ENTERED OUR HOUSE ...'

WTF wei ? Walau , I was sweating already thinking about what happened in my house . I quickly rushed back home and sped all through the NKVE . I really want to TIU those 3 Indian guys already . Ma Chow Hai , I could imagine myself ripping their arms out on the drive back . Shit man , damn pissed off and worried .

When I got back , my Grandmother and Sister were in the living hall . I quickly asked what happened and was outraged with the explanation given ...

3 Indian men came into my house compound asking for prayer donations . My grandmother being the generous person she is , gave some money through the window grill .  They insisted that since it was  donations for prayer purposes , the money can't be given under the grill , so they asked my granny to open the door and grill for them ....lantiu la, what kind of fucking tiu ni ah sing lcly theory is that ?

Arghhhhhhh....I'm so angry...and... Yeah, my granny opened the door for them ...Arghhh!!!!!!!

Once the door was opened , they rushed in , 2 held my granny , and one of them ran upstairs . My little sister was upstairs and she shouted after hearing the commotion. She opened her room door and kept screaming . They din't realize that they were more people in the house and they panicked and quickly dashed out ....

.....................Although nothing was stolen , imagine what would have happened if the Indian guy upstairs din't chicken out and tied my sister and granny .... I really can't understand why my granny would open the door .... and that for one makes me really pissed off ...WHYEEE?????

I tell you ,If I ever see those 3 Indian guys ever again , carrying a tin can asking for prayer donations , I will call a few friends from the gym and bash the living hell out of them . Damn am I angry !!!!!!!!!!!!! Argghhhh !

Valentines Magic!

Dsc03055_1
Butterflies on stage ....Something I feel before going up to a large audience .....The largest audience I've performed for ?...About 3000 people and I sweated my  ass off ...I tried to act confident , but somehow the sweating never stopped ...

The one reason why my performance sometimes fail to get the reactions that I want , is due to one reason and only one main reason alone ... LACK OF PREPERATION .

I can't stress enough how important preperation is , if you're performing on a live show , where anything can happen ...Better be prepared ! . Experience is a huge asset but preperation for the show is pivotal .

I'd like to share something that happened during one of my shows that I wasn't fully prepared . I was having exams and I depended on experience alone , and boy did I learn from it .

I was suppose to do a book test where I asked a person to pick any word from a number of books and I was suppose to guess the word the person picked .... I suddenly got sunned on stage , like a taser gun being poked up my ass . I couldn't get the word for some reasons that I can't disclose .

Me : Now, Sandra , what was your word...?

Sandra: You want me to say it out ? I thought you were suppose to guess it ?

It din't help that I got a spectator like that ....

Me: No,no, just say it out ...

Sandra: `THAT '

Me: Hmm...of all the words, you picked `THAT ' ? T  H  A  T
That tells me a lot about you...

Sandra : Tells you what ?

Me: .....It tells me you're a really good person that will have everlasting happiness in life  ....It also tells me you're single...

And thank GOD the crowd laughed ....

*To others ,don't use that line . I was performing at a rowdy adult party , so it fits . You'd get booed down the stage if you said that ...

Dsc03056

My January is kind of realaxed because I'm trying to practice a solid act for my stage show . Yeah , rugi a lot la , turn down shows , but I need to have  1 SOLID act that I will use frequently ...and that takes rehearsals .

February however will be jam packed ...and I really mean it . I have the huge JOBDB.com courier fair in KLCC for the Prime Minister to prepare for , and not forgetting Valentines Day . There are two restaurants wanting to employ me for their Valentines show at the moment being, one in Subang and one in KL ... but I'd really prefer to have just a 1 private show for Valentines like I did last year . I really don 't want to spend my valentine's entertaining couples for the whole night .Hey, I also want to enjoy what .....So here's the deal..

Want to impress you date ?  GET ME for Valentines ! Haha . I'll be your personal entertainer or guys if you want to impress your date with some magic , do drop me a mail ! I'll propose to you something really nice for your Valentines Date . I'll gurantee you it'll impress your date . Hurry up , I've got to give the restaurants a confirmation soon !!..and IF somehow you're not pleased with my service for the night , I won't charge a cent !!

Faizal Tahir banned for being `BOGEL '

Coverfront

I've got to know this just recently as I couldn't be bothered with mosquito news like this .

For those of you who do not know what happened , let me explain . Faizal Tahir the One in a Million runner up , went up on stage to perform for 8tv's 4th birthday bash, then in all the hush , took out his top and revealed a red `S' on his bare body ....Oh ya , he also took off his belt and threw it to the crowd .

For that , Faizal got banned from appearing from ANY televised acts for the next 3 months  ,and apart from that 8TV was also banned from airing any new live or delayed telecast concerts and all entertainment programmers for three months  . Kinda harsh for revealing his chest and love handles huh ?...but were in Malaysia....Yes I almost forgot about that .

Faizaltahirbukabaju8tv1

Now for my views on this , I was actually next to Faizal before he went on stage  . I saw him drawing the red `
S' on his body in the performers tent and wondered why on earth was he doing that?? . Then I realized that he was Malaysia's DC's comic attire ambassador and remembered about my old time favorite series Smallville .

Smallville

Comparing both photos of Faizal and Clark Kent , they do look similar . Just that The
`S' on Faizal is all smudged up with sweat and what happened to the six pack?? Bro, want to copy , at least draw the S with a RED permanent marker and not Buncho water color laaa ....

I do sympathize on Faizal . I know all he did was in order to entertain the crowd and performing his duties as DC's ambassador , by advertising them on national TV . This coming from somebody who really hate his guts and attitude ( I met him a few times at events before the concert ...and well ...I shall just leave it at that ) .

Faizal , if you're reading this , which I somehow know you are ( because you always google your name up ) , take this time for a break la bro . 3 months vacation to energize back yourself . Hope you come back to the scene better than ever , and please change that stuck up attitude of yours man . It'll be for the better .

The sweetest thing

Now , this my friend would be a random post ...

Since my TUPAI is currently enjoying herself being massaged by some muscular Thai dude in Bangkok , I'd thought I'd just write a post about her .

A question to all those who are reading this , what was the sweetest ( ayoyo , I'm using the word `sweetest' in my blog ) thing a person has ever done for you  . A `person' here being someone apart from your family members ? Yeah to the fucker out there who is now going , ` My bf once gave me a BMW and it was sooo sweet ' ... Cool it down bitch , were talking something apart from material stuff here.  Wait till I earn my first million and we'll change this post to ` The most expensive  thing a person..... ' .

Anyway , these are some of the really sweet things my little Tupai did for me . Considering the fact that she's working 6 days a week at a 9 to 5 job , it really takes effort doing some of the things she does .

1_996354491l

Last Christmas , My Tupai scared the shit out of me by giving me a bottle filled with nice quotes and messages  for my pressie. I tell you , now that is ONE hard to beat Christmas present that took a very long time to make .

Imgp1945
The bottle of now half filled messages ( I opened almost half of the messages already )

Imgp1946
The opened messages kept in a box (not a steek..inside joke )

Imgp1947
A message I just opened

Imgp1948
One of the quotes she wrote

Okay don't go going calling my close friends and ask , `What happened to David bro ? , why suddenly so corny? '  , I know I'm not the mushy type but actually just want to lan tiu you all la , make you all realise `what have you done for your gf ?? ', hah , make you feel guilty already !... Oh ya , Tupai also designed my name card ! She did it from scratch .

Namecardconverted

Actually ,  Yen Chi, or who I fondly call   Chichi or Tupai , has done many nice things for me . I really can 't write mushy mushy post , or my bulu roma will berdiri so I'll end it off with a few pictures of my beautiful girl ...Why did I write this post ?...Neh , it wasn't random ...  Chi ,

 Happy Anniversary !

Dreadful receptionists

I am now experiencing life as a civil engineer , and boy do I not like it one bit . The life of a civil engineer is really boring to say the least . I mean , of course , if you fancy an office life ( for whatever fetish you have ) , it might be a little more satisfying in a weird unexplainable way .

That , however , is not the point of this post ...Some of the jobs that I do in my current company are meeting clients and tender holders from other engineering companies . I send them plans , they approve it , and walah . Yeah , a BIG WALAH ! ( It's just sooo exiting & fulfilling )

Anyways , directions to some of these companies and complicated ...and even that is an understatement . Sometimes I have to call their receptionist and ask for the directions , and after a few calls to a few different companies , I have concluded that they should go back to seconsary school ...

ME : Hello ! Can I ask where is your company ?

Receptionist : Owh , where are you sirr?

Me: I'm at SS2 in front of Mc'Ds , where should I turn ? Mc'D's is on my right hand side .

Receptionist : Owh , opposite playground ...

Me: What ? What playground , I can 't see any playground ?

Receptionist : Got swing one , where is Mac Dee ?

Me : I'm on the right hand side of Mac Donald ...

Receptionist : Owh , Mac Donald , okok sirr , see you soon .

...toot....tooot...toot

Me : WTF just happened ????

I wana TIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU her already man !! When I finally found the place , I saw that she was a young Sarawakian girl . Aiz , give her chance lah , but she should at least KNOW where the hell she is working at !!...Oh ya m, the place was at the back of Mac Donald ...she should have at least told me that !! Makuku !

Another sad story was this , when I went to Puchong to meet some clients . Mind you , I always went on this short trips alone ...

Me : Hie M**RA , can I know where are you located at? , I'm already in Puchong . Giant is now on my left hand side .

R : Harloo Sir , don 't turn into Giant , nono

Me: I'm not turning into Giant ...

R: Okok , keep on going straight until you see Tractors and then turn left . After that can see already ....

Yeah, the fucked up part was that she forgot about the two roundabouts , and a shrp left turning I had to make after I saw a BP station . It took me nearly an hour to get there due to her dumbo instructions .

Makuku, luckily I'm going to Philippines soon !! and thank GOD I have another JOB that I like .

My Honest Review on Jarum Halus

I attended the premiere Of Jarum Halus a while back ago with Chichi ,Christien and his wife Lavin . I haven't had time to do a review of the movie , but here it goes :

Poster2

My review might be a little bias due to the fact that both the lead actors are my good friends . Razif has done quite a number of shows with me ,and Christien had always been a good friend and bro .

With Razif and Christien at the premiere

I have to warn you beforehand though that the movie is slow . It really is . There is no particular `action ' scenes and explosions do not happen in any frame . It's 2 hours 15 minutes long and it's not suitable for young children , they wouldn't understand it .

It's an intellectual movie suited for people who appreciate `clever ' movies with a good script and narration . I wouldn't want to spoil it for you but the movie gets you thinking all the way and lets you create your own ending . It's open ended and that what makes it stand out .

Razif's performance in the movie was excellent and he played his role really well . He really exceeded my expectations . Christien making his debut on the big screens outdone himself with the many crying scenes involved . He personally told me he only took 1 `take' for the scenes involved. Most of all , Mark Tan , who is merely 22 years old made a very decent debut film . Congratulations to all in this great production.

Do give Jarum Halus a try . I really do recommend it . Support your local industry , especially those movies worth watching ...and my friend , Jarum Halus definitely IS worth watching .

CHE ' NELLE at 8tv's BDAY BASH

`I fell in love with the DJ '... la la la , la la la ... I never liked the song...Until I knew the dang singer was from Malaysia !!! How many Malaysian has made it internationally in the music industry ?...Umm , I know , you're scratching your head , your forehead is sweating , pupils dilating... Yes ,yes, the feeling is mutual ... no one comes to mind ...except Che ' Nelle !!

I don`t wanna type, then copy and paste from her site about her background . Do a google search and you can find out all about her . And if you haven't heard of the lovely tune ` I fell in love with the DJ '...where have you been ?? And please dun say menunaikan HAJI in Mekkah . Somehow I see alot of Headmasters missing in Mekkah after segregating their whole SK school to boys and girls in the papers these day .

Getting back to my post , I went to 8TV's 4th birthday bash with Melvin , Kareen , and Mellissa . It was suppose to be a fun filled adventure...that was somehow shortlived for reasons I just can't seem to elaborate without hurting my friends at 8TV ( so I shall remain silent )

Anyway , I met up with many of my former friends . SUKI , Daniel of `You Think You Can Dance ? ' , Jac , Belinda and Razif . Also chatted with Phat Fabes for a little ...although I see him almost every week at church . What a holy guy ...seriously he is .

The Millionaire girl

Suki was sooo tired on the night and it really showed . As some of you might know , Suki is really interested in cards sleights and I showed her a few just to cheer her up before her show on stage . Poor girl , so young yet sooo much to do . I really think she needs a BOOST up vacation after her hectic schedule .

Imgp1944a

With Jac

I was standing outside the 8tv artistes tent and then suddenly came a Suzuki Swift without any number plate ...Jac popped out of the car shortly and I went like `WHAT ?? Malaysian Idol winners get to drive cars without number plate ??? Jac never told me how did she go around in a car tinted and not bearing any registration ....WTF, next time I also want to join Idol ...just for the car .

Imgp1942

YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE ?

The tent was so warm , I tell you it was like a temporary free sauna . I went out after I cannot tahan anymore . I also saw Che'Nelle hanging out outside . I'm sure she also must be sweating her brains off in the tent . I went over to chat and showed her some impromtu stuff . She was very impressed ( well alot of vulgarities were exchanged so I guess she was ) and I accompanied her while she cooled off . I also called Melvin , Kareen and Mellisa to join us .

Che' Nelle was very down to earth and even told me that her dad was a Civil Engineer ( My dad's a civil engineer too ) , and we started talking about engineering , how loads were transfered and what type of reinforcements were used in the US for concrete structures ... Yeah , I'd shoot myself in the head if the conversation continued that way . We mostly talked about magic in general . She even asked Melvin :

`You're a magician too ?? '

Dsc_0016
WTF ? ( yeah she literally said that...and more,much more.. )

Dsc_0023
After some street magic

Imgp1943a
We were both sweating in the tent till her make-up `cair' and my face was a frying pan ... saying our goodbyes

Anyways, Che' Nelle is 24 this year and has already achieved so much in life . She told me that it was a `roller coaster ride ' , but she was enjoying every moment of it . Heaaak ! Time to tambah minyak , I've got loads to plan for this new year for magic too ! INSPIRED !

Show for p24 dance marathon

Imgp1938
I was called by the organizers of Pack The Dance Floor dance marathon  p24dancemarathon.com  to do a short interlude during their event .

I have to commend the organizers ifor organizing such a great event . I've been to many college held events and this was very well organized as well as endorsed by many good( & BIG ) names . I did a short show on stage and then continued partying with the others on the floor as well as doing magic to the crowd .

I came with Kenny Sia after picking him up from his hotel . Blardee hell , the jam was sooooo long that it almost took two hours to the security admissions building in Mont Kiara . Once we reached , we joined up Christien , his wife Lavin , Belinda Chee , Juwita Suwito , and Sarimah Ibrahim at the performers booth .

Imgp1922

I also met up with Shaz who was super friendly and his friend John . Showed them a few stuff here and there and made many new contacts for shows in the future . Kenny was enjoying himself too ...I tell you , when I get the pics of what he did on stage....( pictures of me performing are coming soon from my friend and phothographer Sandra )

Juwita gave an extraordinary performance on stage . Fantastic . It has been a while since we chatted . She also brought her mom to the event ( she brings her mom to almost all of her events ) . The last time we hung out was in Perak at 2am in the wee hours doing magic ....Time flies like a speeding bullet .

I tell you , the event was great and filled with suprises . While dancing on the floor , I spotted a buffed up guy ( I mean really buffed up wei! ) doing hot salsa dancing with a girl on the dance floor . They were damn good !!! , and the guy's muscle was buldging all the way!!! Just take a look , he even wore a GOLD's GYM singlet ! .

Imgp1926

I also met Liang personally for the 1st time . We've been to quite a number of events together but never officailly introduced ourselves to each other. When he came by , he looked at my tag and said :

Liang : Owh, you're David Lai . Your student won last night
             bro !

Haha , I know . He was talking about Yvonne . Anyways , we both chatted for a while and were going to work something out for his next music video on MTV , so stay tuned ! Liang  my friend , is one of the most enthusiastic MCs I've seen and has a very likeable attitude . He used to break dance professionally too .

Here are some pictures of Liang teaching Belinda how to do a head spin .... It din't work ..poor Belinda

Hannah was also one of the performers for the night but we just briefly chatted as I had to go off . It was very late already man . She sang 2 songs and 1 more after the crowd enchored .

A very bad pic of Hannah performing

All in all , I had great fun at the event . thanks so much to Leonard for having me there , Cecilia who took care of my needs and all my friends who accompanied me . Still waiting for the pics from Sandra , but will update this posts soon enough ! Oh ya ,I also saw Esther who was with her fiancee at the event. Congrats for getting engaged ~!

To conclude , It was A great show , made alot of new friends and contacts , plus I had a fantastic time . The moment of the night for me ? ...I had three( almost similar ) of these from people I've never met ....

` Are you David Lai ? You're the magician right ? Yeah I saw your BLOG ! Can I have a pic? '

I blushed so hard and almost turned to a tomato ...People do stumble apon my BLOG ??? haha...WTF??...( blushing )

Show for Apex Security

I just did a show for Apex Security. This is actually the 2nd time I've done a show for Apex . Anyways ....
My friend Darren called me up because of a last minute cancelation but I was still in time to do this show. Darren and I used to work on quite a number of shows in the past . Mind you , he's a `doctor ' ( yes a medical doctor ) now , and had been too busy to perform these days . This is the 1st time we've met up after quite some time not rubbing shoulders in the magic scene together ...

Well, the show was at Menara Apex located in the SATAY land of Kajang . I am so thankful for Quin Li for giving the directions for the hidden menara . Show started at 6.45 pm and we had dinner before that . Food was served in buffet style and the variety was not bad . I tell you I got the suprise of my life when the caterers came up to me and said , ` Hey KAWAN ! ' ..... The caterers were the same caterers catering for 2 of my past events . What a small small world . They were my biggest fans for the night and applauded at everything I did ! haha , great guys !

With our employer , Mr James .

All , in all ,the show was a great show to say the least . Everything went fine * ( a small exception which I will get into) , the crowd's response was very enthusiastic , and best of all my client was happy . Just recieved an sms from James

`Good performance , take care  '

So I guess it went pretty well . Haha.

Oh ya , on the bad part ....man , if I did vanishing tricks , I would have vanished a bodypart of the crazy DJ that handled the sound system . Everytime me and Darren were performing , he kept on putting the music louder . WTF man ?? . Owh, really lost my voice shouting to fight with the music . Kept on asking him to lower the music but he never listened ! Damn it ! Where is my Strepsils !! Sore throat already !..and I know you know which bodypart I'd vanish !!

A small comment from my employer ,

` I really like you guys for your pleasent attitude . You guys are really very marketable magicians ' .
Mr James , organizer of Apex's Annual dinner

An Engineer's nightmare

I had this conversation with Derrick at a mamak quite some time ago after one of my shows .

In engineering , you can choose to major in many different areas , be it CIVIL , Mechanical , Electrical , Chemical ..and many many more like Aeronautical or purely Megatronics . I never did like engineering per-say ( I really hate the technical aspects of it ) , but I have heard rumours that Civil Engineering seemed to have the best prospects . The easiest of all to pass would be Electrical followed by Chemical  and a free ticket to a degree would be taking Mechanical Engineering .

Anyway , Derrick had already graduated as an electrical engineering ( an easy peasy course ) and told me about the experience of his friends  working offshore .

Offshore Engineers go to the deep sea on oil platforms to drillfor  oil , and calculate wave lenghts ( yawnnnn ) . They usually stay there for at least a month solid , without leaving . Derrick told me that , the first thing his friend saw was the janitor at the oil platform . He was to be stationed at the oil platform for 3 full months .

22846178
the first thing Derrick's friend said to himself was` Owh crap , I've got to see this old crappy janitor for a full 3 months '...

Well , after 2 weeks on the oil platform , he started to get lonely , and there was practically no women on board . It was somesort of a sausage fest with his cliques . He always saw the same old janitor from day to day .

He said to himself
` Hey , although she's blardee ugly at first , she seems like a nice person '...

After a month stranded on the ocean , his comments got weirder ..and kinda creepy

`Wow , I've got to peep at the janitor while she's changing again , she looks really hot without her clothes when her face is facing the wall in very dim lighting ' ....

After 2 months..
`Fuck it ! I'm just gonna imagine she's a witch with a broom and screw her upside down '...
B000hgmkws01alvye3t5wl0wt_sclzzzzzzz_v61

So to engineers out there . Beware if you get stationed offshore . Make sure you have a social life when you start working or you'll go crazy and screw a janitor up .

Jarum Halus Movie Premiere

Jarum Halus's Movie Premiere was held in GSC, The Pavillion . Tickets were fully booked but got invited by Christien after work . Thanks bro !
